Beautiful Void
The works in this show explore and celebrate the void--whether it be through the negation/fragmentation of the viewer or the creation of the illusion of portals through space, the work seeks to highlight and reflect on the void. The form of each work takes its genesis from spiritual or scientific iconography and theory. The Void loosely represents many things to me in this work--black holes, the singularity from which our universe formed, the inconceivable state of things before this formation, and more personally, the void in my life and the void being created in my favorite city--San Francisco--as cultures shift and change.
